In order to create a completely seductive space we need to arouse our five senses: touch, sight, smell, hearing and taste. These five human senses play a unique role by receiving signal information from the environment through the sense organs and relaying it to human brain for interpretation. Our brain on receiving and interpreting the information tells the body how to respond. Romance appeals to all of these senses.

Lets start by the size of bed; bigger the better is the rule! Don’t be frugal when it comes to the size of your bed, its always best to have king size when there is no issue of space in the room.

Choose bedding that is made of sensuous textures and soft luxurious, soothing, tone on tone fabrics. Add extra throw pillows to create the drama on the bed. Our sense of sight and touch both benefit from the above.

Layers of thick, plush carpet and area rug are one of the major parts of creating a cozy, romantic ambiance.

Lighting plays an important role in setting up the right atmosphere.

Layers of soft dim lighting, whether by bedside lamps or candles, create a snuggly feeling. Add glamour by adding a dimmable chandelier.

The colour, texture, patterns and style of drapes, sheers or blinds can significantly change the over all mood of the room. Drapery in pearly white silks and velvets add softness to the look. Window treatments with blackout lining keep the world out.

Romantic Bedrooms are usually designed around a neutral colour palette. Grey blues, shades of brown and beige, creamy white are relaxing and easy on the eyes. Work your way by adding some sparkle and twinkle with accent furniture like mirror, lamp base, vases, and light fixture for the alluring effect.

Fresh and lightly fragranced air in the room adds significantly to the romantic mood of the room. Floral arrangements and/or flickering, fragrance-scented candles are inviting and add warmth. Adding a fireplace can take the romantic feel of the bedroom to whole new level.

Keep the distractions outside! Shut the noises like telephone, washing machine, and kitchen out!

Keep some chocolate and champagne in bedroom fridge. What could be more romantic than a late night snack in bed or on the balcony while staring the stars with your partner by your side.
